Pros & cons about this property:
Despite being on a skinny 12 foot lot (but stretching 132 feet deep), this home feels much larger than it appears. A third-storey addition was added to the back of the house. The layout of the house is rather quirky and unique, with a den space in the middle of the second floor that has a series of stairs that connects to the upper levels which feels like a cozy family room or library.
There is no garage (only a parking pad in the backyard) and the house is located on a busy street. It looks like the current owners have started on a whole home renovation but stopped short – there are no baseboards or trim, there is no finished flooring in half the interior (the chipboard subfloor has been painted over, elsewhere lies dated and cheap-looking laminate), and the kitchen and bathroom is original and lacking cabinetry.
My final thoughts:
The price is both reflective of the rough and unfinished condition of the house and the sellers setting for a multiple offer situation. Although a home inspection is provided by the sellers, it wouldn’t hurt and not that much more trouble to have a more thorough inspection of inside some of the walls where the sellers have started on the renovations.
