Pros & cons about this property:

Spacious 2-bedroom hard loft on ground floor with direct access from a unique private courtyard – no waiting for elevators! Solid commercial concrete structure. Tastefully renovated. Short walk to restaurants and shops of Queen St West and Chinatown. There is even a grocery store and food court inside the building! Relatively low maintenance fees and decent amenities which includes a gym, meeting room and solar-powered outdoor pool.

Both bedrooms lack any windows, and the only windows in this loft are at the living room/entrance and a glass block wall in the dining room in the opposite end of the loft. However this unit is located in the open-air portion of the former mall which provides direct sunlight which many lofts here don’t get, and the décor is light and bright.

The only outdoor space is a small pad just outside your front door and it is not private nor separated. This is an older building but appears to be very well maintained.

My final thoughts:

One of the most unusual loft conversions in the city as this was once part of The Village by the Grange, a partially open-air shopping mall on the ground floor of this condo complex where the former stores have been converted into 89 residential and live/work lofts in 2000. The converted lofts and the original condo towers above were both developed by Tridel, one of the most reputable developers in Canada. Lofts in this building don’t come on the market very often and this unit represents an excellent value and great rental potential – OCAD, U of T, Princess Margaret, Toronto General, Sick Kids and Mount Sinai are all a short walk away.
